C-COMP Director and ORS Secretary Dr. Anne-Marie Malfait and Executive Director Brenda Osuch represented the Society at the congressional lunch briefing, Reducing Pain Across the Lifespan: Aging Well, Living Better, held on June 24, 2026, in Washington, D.C.
The briefing convened leading researchers, clinicians, federal officials, and patient advocates to discuss the growing impact of musculoskeletal (MSK) pain—the leading cause of disability in the United States—and the critical need for research-driven approaches to address its underlying causes.
Discussions highlighted the importance of continued federal investment in musculoskeletal research, advances in understanding the biological mechanisms of MSK pain, and opportunities to improve mobility, reduce chronic pain, and enhance quality of life through innovative treatments.
